FORMATFollowing feedback from last year’s competition, the overall structure of CMOTY 2012 has been simplified to encourage more CMG Members to take part in the competition. The format is designed to reward best practices and partnerships between commercial movers and their clients, with each case study being judged on its own merits, therefore giving every CMG Member an equal opportunity of winning this valued accolade.CRITERIASimply submit details of SEVEN clients for whom you have carried out a move for during 2011. HOW TO ENTERTo enter the Commercial Mover of the Year 2012 please follow these simple steps;- Download the Entry Form (see Download button in right hand column)
- Complete the Entry Form in full and save as your document as: ‘(your company name) CMOTY 2012 Entry Form)’
- Email your completed Entry Form to cmoty@bar.co.uk along with a copy of your company logo in high resolution format (JPEG, EPS or TIFF) by the 31st January 2012.
- To book your place for the BAR Annual Conference 2012, please register online by visiting:www.bar.co.uk/conference2012.aspx (Your delegate package must include attendance to the Gala Night Dinner on Saturday 19th May 2012).
- All entrants must be Members of the BAR’s Commercial Moving Group.
- Entry is FREE of Charge.
- All entries received will be given to, and held by, an independent
invigilator who will, on the 2nd February, send via email to the three
Judges for their telephone questioning of your Clients to commence.
- Please therefore ensure that you have completed your Entry Form
correctly.
Please note that any entries that are not completed in accordance to these guidelines will result in automatic disqualification.

JUDGING PANELThe Judging Panel will consist of three Judges: an ‘FM’ Judge, a ‘Client’ Judge and ‘Removals’ Judge allowing the panel to assess the entries from different perspectives. The overall auditing process and scoring will be independentlyvalidated. The Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. CATEGORYAny commercial move carried out between January – December 2011. All moves must have taken place within the UK and the client can be from either the public or private sector. The size of the end user’s organisation will not be a factor in the judging procedure.
TIMETABLE- 31st Jan 2012 - Closing date for entries. All entries to be e-mailed to cmoty@bar.co.uk only
- 3rd - 29th Feb 2012 - Judging Panel to contact all selected clients
- 2nd March 2012 - All scores to be submitted to BAR for validation.
- 18th May 2012 - CMOTY 2012 Report presented at the Conference
- 19th May 2012 - Winner announced at the BAR Conference 2012 Gala Dinner.
PRIZES- The Winner will receive a trophy plus a monetary value in services from the sponsors.
- There will also be various media coverage and promotional/marketing materials available for the Winner.
- The Winner will be announced at the BAR Annual Conference in Windsor on Saturday 19th May 2012 Gala Night Dinner. (Please note, non attendance will result in instant disqualification)
CLOSING DATE - 31st January 2012All entries to be sent submitted by email only to
cmoty@bar.co.ukJUDGING PROCESSEach of the judges will work independently to each other. They will randomly select and contact three of your chosen clients. The judges will select their own questions based on their area of expertise and will ask a minimum of five and a maximum of ten questions to each client.
From these questions each judge will mark each client between 1 and 100. Each question to be scored separately. The maximum score for all questions, per judge, per client is 100. The judges will then submit their reports to BAR to be collated and independently validated. The reports will include the questions asked to each of the clients, the score weighting against each questions asked and scores for each of the three selected jobs.
YOUR CLIENTSPlease advise your clients that they may be contacted by up to three judges who will each assess the move from different perspectives.
FEEDBACKFeedback will be given to all CMOTY entrants which will include the questions asked by the Judging Panel and the scores allocated. These will be compared to the Winner’s overall scores. The feedback reports will not be available until after the conference.
SELECTION PROCESSThe Winner will be the company with the highest overall score as determined by the Judging Panel. There will be no Finalists. Certificates of Merit
will be issued to those companies that score with 80% or more of the winning score.
