DON’T JUST STAND THERE – SIT ON THE BOARD!
Democracy rules…
In response to a recent review, we’re making changes to ensure BAR members have a bigger say in the strategy and policies of the Association – we’re here to represent you.
This year, for the first time, three members of the Board of Directors will be directly elected from the general membership, by the general membership. You no longer have to be a representative of one of the functional group councils, committees or subsidiary companies.
What’s involved?
As a directly elected Board member you’ll be appointed for a two-year term, commencing with the annual November/December meeting.
There are three Board meetings a year so the good news is, despite the influence you’ll have, the time commitment’s not great.
You’ll get an induction pack and all travel and reasonable subsistence expenses will be paid.
Make yourself heard!
Whether you decide to stand for election or not, make sure you support your colleagues and vote for the person you think most suited to represent you on the Board. BAR is committed to hearing your views and ideas.
The process
Use the online application form to apply – the link’s at the bottom of the page. All nominees will be asked to confirm their eligibility and willingness to stand.
Candidates will then be invited to submit brief details about themselves, together with a summary of their qualifications and aims; these candidate profiles will be published on the website and in the October issue of Removals & Storage.
The three candidates polling the highest number of votes will take their places on the Board of Directors (November).
An online election will then take place, in which all BAR members will be eligible to vote.
